Vereda de las Todigas 2020 13.5% 100% Red Garnacha

Our village wine. Vineyards in the municipality of
Burgohondo located between 900 and 1050 metres
above sea level. Marked presence of granite soils and
the identity of the Garnacha grape from the Sierra de
Gredos.
Caramel of violets, raspberries, cherry and hints of
phosphorus and graphite.
Subtle presence of foudre ageing and well-integrated
acidity due to the elaboration in concrete and anphoras.

WINEMAKING
The grapes were harvested from different plots in Burgohondo during the first weeks of September.
Pre-fermentative maceration of 72 hours and subsequent fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with
30% of whole cluster and post-fermentative maceration of 20 days.
Ageing in 25Hl foudre and Homigones and 7Hl earthenware jars.
Natural cold stabilisation. Not clarified or filtered.

2021 began with the heaviest snowfall in recent years, leaving the vines covered in snow for many days. The
spring welcomed us with a frost that, although not catastrophic, marked what was to follow.
A cool summer, with few days of extreme heat and a late, wet and cold harvest.
The rains came in September and forced us to remove leaves and fight against botrytis. We finally finished
the harvest on the 15th of October, although we left a large part of the crop in the field.
2021 is austerity, cold, elegance and finesse. It is undoubtedly the great vintage of Gredos in recent times.
